## Querying This Documentation
This site has an agentic ask interface you may use to query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.dis.tf/index.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

# Welcome

A discord bot that can detect known phishing links and ability to block any type of unknown website based on server owners preferences.

## What does the bot do?

Simple to setup using slash commands. The bot uses 3 different phishing/malware APIs that maintain large databases of domains, which would detect links such as "Free nitro, free steam game/item, free epic games" and much more.

Server owners are also able to block any kind of websites using contentscan command (custom flagging). By configuring your blacklisted keywords, this feature can go beyond flagging domains which may not be only phishing/virus/trojan links.

Content Scan/Youtube are **data scraping** features that flag any domains depending on the Html content inside the website and match against your blacklisted keywords. This means that you don't even need to know the exact URL to block bad links. The feature can be useful for example blocking specific youtube links that have video titles such as: "How to get free discord nitro", "get free steam games" "how to become rich with mining".

# Setup

Munio uses a simple command structure to setup and configure settings by using 1 single entry point command **/settings**

## **Command structure**

When executing the command **/settings** you are presented with 3 selection fields.

* **Global Scanners**\
  For server owners own protection, Munio have several scanners enabled by default with the goal of protecting server owners community without needing configure too much to setup the bot in their community server. These global scanners have configurations that are optimized to detect most common harmful links and ability to protect discord servers. \
  \
  These global scanners in terms of function are identical to Server scanners which acts as your local scanner. \
  The global scanners can be of course deactivated.<br>
* **Local Scanners**\
  The scanners from Global scanners shares identical functions in Local scanners. The only difference between Global and Local is that local are settings that applies only to your server and nowhere else. <br>
* **Server Settings**\
  This module allows you to set up log channel where bot post messages,

{% hint style="danger" %}
**NOTICE!**

In order for bot to successfully punish the user, the bot must be in higher role hiearchy than the user's role.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Good to know:** By default, the bot works without any configurations however if you wish to see logs when bot sanction a users and adjust type of punishment then setting up the bot can be a good idea.
{% endhint %}

# Content Scanner

A data scraping feature that scans any websites html content in order to match against server owners blacklisted keywords.

## How Content scan works

Introducing Content Scanner, a powerful feature of my bot! With Content Scanner enabled, every message containing a link in a Discord channel is instantly scanned. The bot extracts the HTML content from the linked website and compares it against your server owner's blacklisted keyword phrases.

Content Scanner flags any domains based on their HTML content and matches them against your specified blacklisted keywords. This means you don't even need to know the exact URL to block undesirable links. For example, you can easily block specific YouTube links with video titles such as "How to get free Discord Nitro," "Get free Steam games," or "How to become rich with mining."

## Important to know

If executing this command with "orange, apple, banana", this will count as 1 phrase!

The bot will use these 3 separate words and try match against the html content from a domain. It doesn't matter which order these words are posted. As long as the html content contains all of these 3 words, the bot will flag that domain and sanction the user accordingly.

## Configurational options

# Avatar scanner

Using pHash to scan and match against blacklisted profile picture

## How Global/Local avatar scanner works

Munio scans profile picture(avatar) when new user join your server and when they are in your server and changes to a new profile picture. Bot will now match any profile pictures with the aforementioned conditions against the bots database of blacklisted profile pictures using similarity comparison that works like Google reverse image search.&#x20;

The blacklisted profile picture will only get added to the database if DM BOT spammers uses multiple accounts with the same profile picture. This feature will be extremely useful protecting your server against **DM SPAMMERS** that impersonate discord staff or any known dm spammers.

## Default: <mark style="color:green;">Enabled</mark>

Bot will by default auto kick users from all servers if the users profile picture match against the profile picture database.

**Default punishment type**: Kick

\
To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** \
> Option 1: Global Scanners\
> Option 2: Local Scanners\
> **Step 3:** Avatar Scanner

# Domain Registrar Blacklist

First line of defense against newly registered phishing/malicious domains!

#### Background

Munio comes with several configureable heuristic features that gives servers first line of defense against unknown and not yet reported phishing domains. This is enabled by default.

By nature any discord related phishing domains  are registered and spammed under the same day. Majority of the criminals register their domains on infamous "Domain Registrars" that gives them a safe haven.&#x20;

#### Detection condition

The bot will scan all links and determine which registrar a domain is registered under and if the domain was created very recently then Phish Grabber will sanction the users by default.&#x20;

Punishment type is enabled by default that is called "Heurisitic Protection". This can however be disabled by individual server owners.&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
**Did you know?**

Content Scan also have heuristic feature in nature that can block newly registered domains before it gets known by Phish Grabber's phishing APIs.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

## Default: <mark style="color:green;">Enabled</mark>

Bot will by default auto delete message and timeout users from all servers if the link match against globally or/and local blacklisted domain registrar.

**Default punishment type:** Delete & Timeout

To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** *Select* Server scanners\
> **Step 3:** *Click the button* **Domain Registrar Blacklist**

# Primary Anti-phishing

A community of developers reporting verified phishing domains to API. Have high accuracy of confirmed phishing domains.

## Main phishing database

This bot uses 2 main APIs that maintain a large database of phishing domains that specifically target discord, steam and epic websites. \
\
Discord is being plagued with compromised accounts that spams phishing links that pretends to be discord, steam or epic in order to trick users entering their login details. Which is the main function of this bot uses these apis to detect and sanction the users accordingly. \
\
Thanks to the APIs, Munio can scan known URL shorteners and find the real domain hiding behind it, and match the real domain against the database.

## Default: <mark style="color:green;">Enabled</mark>

By default, the bot automatically uses "Primary Antiphishing" scanner type and scans any links  and have punishment type "Delete & Ban".&#x20;

**Default punishment type:** Delete & Ban

To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** *Select* Server scanners\
> **Step 2:** *Click the button* **Set Primary AntiPhish API Punishment**

# Extended Anti-phishing

Large database coverage of malicious domains. CAN CONTAIN FALSE POSITIVES!

## Optional phishing database

> Phishing Domains, urls websites and threats database. We use the PyFunceble testing tool to validate the status of all known Phishing domains and provide stats to reveal how many unique domains used for Phishing are still active.

This database contains over 400 000 phishing links.

These phishing domains are generalized domains that target users beyond discord target group and these website are based on fake hospital, library, bank, forum, subscription based sites and many more variety.&#x20;

{% hint style="danger" %}
The database does contain some false positives which means some domains in that list are legitimate websites. If you choose to enable this database, then please consider a milder punishment type.
{% endhint %}

## Default: <mark style="color:red;">Disabled</mark>

To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** *Select* Server scanners\
> **Step 3:** *Click the button* **Set Extended AntiPhish API Punishment**

# Username Scanner

Scan usernames based on configuration options.

Munio will scan usernames when user joins your server or changes their username when they are in your server already.&#x20;

Munio offer you 2 configuration options:\
**1. Manage Keywords list** - Plain text configuration where you example can blacklist specific names like "ABC"\
**2. Manage Patterns (Regex) list** - Uses regex configuration that offers more flexibility in coveraging different type of names bot should detect.

{% hint style="info" %}
Munio uses Javascript as regex expression. \
Use this website to test your working regex configuration: <https://regex101.com/>
{% endhint %}

## Default: <mark style="color:red;">Disabled</mark>

To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** Select Server scanners\
> **Step 3:** Username Scanners

# Youtube Scanner

## How Youtube works

Youtube scanner type have 2 functions. 1 is for scanning content of youtube videos. 2 is for blocking specific youtube channel.

1. Helps you block any youtube videos based on youtube video contents. This function works similar to "Content scan" but specialized in youtube videos only. If you add keywords then Munio will scan any youtube video in order to match against your keywords.&#x20;
2. Block a specific youtube channel at your choosing. If any videos, newly uploaded or old, originates from the blacklisted channel, Munio will detect it and sanction the users accordingly, if enabled.&#x20;

You can configure additional phrase such as "gold, red, yellow, pink, purple" which means the bot will then scan websites content for any of these phrases.

Note that the bot will not flag the website if the content does not contain all words from the same phrase. Example if the html content contains these words only:

Phrase 1 gold, red Phrase 2 apple

Then the bot will not flag the url. It must contain all words from the specific phrases to flag a domain.

## Default: <mark style="color:red;">Disabled</mark>

To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** *Select* Server scanners\
> **Step 3:** Youtube scanner

# Domain Blacklist

## How blacklist works

Server owners are able to blacklist any type of domain at their choosing. Please note that if you ban a domain, you will ban all subdomains aswell.&#x20;

Example. If you blacklist google.com. Then abc.google.com will also be detected and sanction users accordingly.

## Default: <mark style="color:green;">Enabled</mark>

Bot will by default delete message and ban users from all servers if the user post a blacklisted link from server owners blacklist.

**Default punishment type**: Delete & Ban

\
To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **Step 1:** /settings\
> **Step 2:** *Select* Server scanners\
> **Step 3:** Domain blacklist

# URL List

## How URL List works

Some malicious actors on discord are using legitimate website as file storage purpose. They will later use those site to serve as direct download links. The issue with direct download links is that API does not blacklist subdomains nor legitimate domains, while Content scan works only if link is an actual website and contains html content. Because the nature of direct download, there are no content for "Content scan" to scan.&#x20;

Example link of how these criminals take advantage of legitimate website service

mediafire.com/abcdef\
github.com/something.exe\
\
\
This is where URL List comes in, to cover these type of issues. The URL List are scanned and vetted by Munio's staff and if they deem a specific URL to be malicious, it will be blacklisted. However, unlike the scanner type "Blacklist", URL list does NOT ban the actual domain. Instead it bans the specific URL string instead.&#x20;

If bot blacklist github.com/something.exe\
then github.com will not be blacklisted.

## Default: <mark style="color:green;">Enabled</mark>

Bot will by default delete message and timeout users from all servers if the user post a detected link from Munio internal database.&#x20;

**Default punishment type**: Delete & Timeout

\
To configurate this scanner, follow these steps:

> **/punishment set-punishment scanner:URL List**

# How-to Content Scanner

A feature that allows the server owner to detect any website based on server owners own preference by adding their own keywords. By acessing website html content and match against keywords.

## How keywords works

![](https://4116933253-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FExRFSiGGE6uXpYA2tMPv%2Fuploads%2FVD2LiemKzQHj7S7J68Xn%2Fbild.png?alt=media\&token=25482893-2cb2-4d11-ac83-33da50b995af)

When you add multiple keywords from the screenshot, Munio will match them in the specified order when scraping websites. For instance, if you add several keywords, you will have to add a comma to separate individual keywords example "Banana, Apple, Orange," \
\
Munio will flag a link if the HTML content contains these words in that exact order. However, it will not flag the link if the words are in a different order, such as "Apple, Orange, Banana."

If you want Munio to detect these three words without a specific order, you should add each keyword separately. In the "Add keywords" picture above, add only "banana" and click submit. Then, add a new keyword and repeat the process, adding only one keyword at a time. For example, add "orange," and so on.

<table><thead><tr><th>Steps</th><th width="394">Explanation</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Step 1: /settings<br>Step 2: Select Local Scanners<br>Step 3: Select Content scanner<br>Step 4: Manage Keyword List</td><td>You can add multiple keywords, just ensure to add comma between each words. </td></tr></tbody></table>

<table><thead><tr><th width="353">Steps</th><th>Explanation</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Step 1:  /settings<br>Step 2: Select Local Scanners<br>Step 3: Select Content scanner<br>Step 4: Manage Patterns (Regex) List</td><td>You can add javascript regex expression with this configuration. </td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
**Useful tip:** You can choose to have the bot scan for a single word consecutively if you add a comma between each keyword or you can add several words in one single keyword.&#x20;

<mark style="background-color:purple;">Example usage:</mark>\
If a html content contains this sentence: \ <mark style="background-color:blue;">i like eating apple, but i dislike orange, lemon taste great</mark>\
and server owner add this keyword *"**i like eating apple**"* \
**This would count as 1 keyword and will flag the link.**\
\
If you add more words per keywords, the more specialized the bot will be when flagging against domains. This can be useful for matching specific sentences that some site uses, which usually yields a more surgicial target against a very specific website content.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
Content scan is disabled by default. To activate it, simply add keywords
{% endhint %}

# Usage/Tips

Content scan can be a very powerful tool if used correctly. In this page, we will attempt to showcase many ways how this function can serve in multiple type of purposes.

How keywords works

When you add multiple keywords from the screenshot, Munio will match them in the specified order when scraping websites. For instance, if you add the keywords "Banana, Apple, Orange," Munio will flag a link if the HTML content contains these words in that exact order.

## Multiple words per keyword

| Keyword example                               |
| --------------------------------------------- |
| discord nitro free, enjoy bigger file uploads |

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FExRFSiGGE6uXpYA2tMPv%2Fuploads%2F18wGm1OMugXaV2W6JP9A%2Fexample%201.png?alt=media&token=49cce63b-a3c1-443e-8d76-be3d28bacc73>" %}

From the image above, the bot will be able to scan these 2 keywords and flag the domain. \
By adding several words per keywords, it allows the bot to specifically target website that continues to use the same text content.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
In keyword 1 example, it contains 3 words "Discord nitro free", which means that bot will scan these 3 words in that exact order. So if these 3 words are in mixed order example "free discord nitro", then the bot will not detect keyword 1.&#x20;

Another situation is if a sentence contains this:

Get 1 **discord** month of **nitro free** from....\
Then bot will not treat that as keyword 1. That is where **single word** per keyword could be useful instead.
{% endhint %}

Theres pros and cons by adding **multiple** words per keywords which will be listed below.

<mark style="color:green;">+ Highly specialized which will target specific type of website content.</mark>\ <mark style="color:green;">+ Less likely that legitimate domain will get flagged.</mark>\ <mark style="color:red;">-</mark> <mark style="color:red;">If a phishing website decides to change the entire text content then no match will be found.</mark>\ <mark style="color:red;">- Example Keyword 1 must match against identical words in the same order in order to get flagged. If website content has the following words in wrong order: nitro discord free then keyword 1 will not get matched.</mark>&#x20;

## Single word per keyword

| Keyword example      |
| -------------------- |
| discord, nitro, free |

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FExRFSiGGE6uXpYA2tMPv%2Fuploads%2Fe5jNIReBVtGB7b7ni2Ri%2Fexample%202.png?alt=media&token=3b1f155e-804d-4b56-a06f-e752a114e55e>" %}

From the image above, it showcases that the bot will individually scan each word on the website content to match against your configured keyword.&#x20;

Theres pros and cons by adding **single** words per keywords which will be listed below.

<mark style="color:green;">+ Cover more variety of websites based on server owners preference, when configured correctly. More keywords you add, the less likely legitimate websites will get flagged.</mark> \ <mark style="color:green;">+ Can scan single keyword in any type of order. Example Keyword 3 can appear first while keyword 2 and 1 comes after and bot will still flag it.</mark>\ <mark style="color:red;">- Higher risk for flagging legitimate websites, as websites tend to use the same words. Requires more effort to configurate with accurate keywords.</mark> \ <mark style="color:red;">- If you add fewer keywords, the chances are that the bot will flag more legitimate website because there's less specialization in your keyword configuration.</mark> <br>

{% hint style="info" %}
If you want to whitelist 1 domain then you need to add the same domain twice. \
Example:&#x20;

[www.google.com](http://www.google.com)

google.com

The reason is because [www](http://www). is considered a subdomain and the nature of how Munio is extracting domains, it only look for specific domain and ignores subdomains.&#x20;
